The actor-director is all set to do a comedy film 'Nam Anna Don', which starts next week and has a heroine from Iran.
Ramesh Aravind is back to calling the shots on the sets. After almost a gap of two years, he's back directing what he does best, a comic caper. The latest film, from his home production, is titled 'Nam Anna Don', has him playing the lead as well. The film flags off on Monday and is expected to be a quickie that will hit the theatres in December.
"I am back to playing a doctor after Sathyavan Savithri," says Ramesh, adding, "This is a fun film, which has a lot of laughs but eventually aims at spreading a sweet message that lies beneath all the humour and gags." The film will boast of a host of comic talents including Achyuth Kumar and Raju Talikote.
"While most of the film will be shot inside a hospital, there is also a segment, which deals with the underworld, of course in a funny way," says Ramesh, who adds how he had a tough time finding the heroine, because he had some very specific characteristics in mind.
"I wanted a very innocent face, someone who you'd even forgive in case she murdered someone. That's when we came across Mona Parvarish, who is originally from Iran. She's extremely expressive and we had a great photo shoot, which we had shot for the promotional stills of the film," says Ramesh.
It took him nearly seven months (from January to July) to finalise the full script says Ramesh. "I have a friend who's co-writing it with me. I have intentionally taken on very little work this year in terms of acting too. My films so far have been received well. Each of them has run for over 100 days in the city multiplexes. So, I wanted to get the story and the laughs just right and not disappoint my fans," says the director, who's eagerly waiting to take control of the megaphone again.
